Artemis was one of three little boys who were given sanctuary at the end of the Summer in 2022. They were not "doing well" and were much smaller than the farmer needed them to be at the age they were (some 12 months) As such, it was not financially viable to continue with them as "meat animals" and so their fate was sealed.

Thankfully the farmer who knew that Fona had a rescued Highland herd via contacts at the Colchester Livestock market asked to see whether we would take them rather than have them slaughtered. Artemis came with his friends Adonis and Dennis and all are doing well as part of the Highland herd - although Dennis is actually a Vaynol cow but he identifies as a Highland as he too has big horns :)
