Paris the Great Dane

Paris is a beautiful dog, but one with problems.

She was ousted from a family who no longer wanted her and on arrival at the Sanctuary was very very nervous.

(We were later to establish that she had been beaten up by a man in the past which explains her nervousness particularly around men)

She wouldn't come near us for a few days, although was more comfortable around me than Martin

Clearly Paris eats a lot ! and the strain of continuing to help unwanted pets like Paris puts tremendous stress on us. if you are reading this and not already a member, please consider joining the Sanctuary

You can donate whatever amount you like on a monthly basis & be assured that whatever you give, it all goes towards the animals feed costs - none of your money is diverted to pay expenses or salaries etc

Thank you - woof woof !

She initially took up residence in the Conservatory, but one day about a week after she had been here, she suddenly bounded up to me & wanted to be friends !

However when Martin appeared, she went back to being a growling & aggressive Dog & certainly one you wouldn't want to go near!

Months later & Paris is occasionally nervous around Martin, but most of the time now accepts cuddles. She never has shown any aggression towards me. Certainly this is not the case with strangers - she goes absolutely mental !

She is top dog in the house, but also occasionally visits the "yard" gang where Simon the Mastiff reigns supreme ! - they have not sought to establish a pecking order there (which is just as well) and treat each other with the respect of visiting dignitaries !
